Outsider Artists share a common bond in their social status as outsiders and as artists practising and producing work on the edges of mainstream cultural activity. Currently, the work echoes across international borders with the development of the ABLE ART Network in Japan, EUCREA in Europe and the DADAA National Network in Australia. These networks include artists and administrators from Asia and Europe and the USA who work to promote and value the visual artwork of people experiencing disabilities to mainstream galleries and collections and to advocate on behalf of people with disabilities around the world.
BOA Studio is open Mondays -Tuesdays

Access Arts in partnership with DADAA WA and the Freight Gallery in Fremantle, Western Australia showcased the works of two emerging Access Arts studio members as well as a member from the Freight Galley and Studio in an exhibition from the 5 - 29 April, 2007. Access Arts supported two artists, Lisa Blake and Peter Hughes, to fly to Fremantle and attend the exhibition opening. This was a fantastic opportunity for both these artists to exhibit their work and continue to develop their artistic practice.

This exhibition was an annual state wide survey exhibition which was held from 2-26 July 2007. Presented by Access Arts in partnership with Hands on Art, this exhibition aimed to provide accessibility to visually impaired patrons via exhibition tour guides. These guides were also available to anyone who wanted to experience the exhibition in more depth. 'Access Arts is committed to ensuring that all members of the community have the opportunity to appreciate the arts. We hope that the tour guides will enable visually impaired visitors to have equal access to the exhibition', said Visual Arts Coordinator Jasmin Jacobson.
