Access Arts Inc ® 1983 - 2008

Access Arts Queensland is the peak body working with artists, cultural workers and their communities across Queensland. We deliver a range of Professional Arts and Cultural services to Queensland communities with an emphasis on those communities, groups and individuals who experience disability and disadvantage.

Access Arts is the acknowledged leader throughout the Arts and Cultural sector in the development of emerging artists through mentoring and employment of professional artists and cultural workers experiencing disabilities and disadvantage.

Access Arts utilises an innovative and unique approach to reciprocal partnerships with individuals, regional Queensland communities, interstate and international organisations. These partnerships are instrumental in producing quality exhibitions, performances, projects, workshops and professional development outcomes.

How You can Get Involved

Current programs include:

Sound Circles: voice and movement workshops for the whole community available in various regions throughout Queensland and NSW.

Brisbane Outsider Artists Studio: an invitation-only program for emerging and professional visual artists.

Professional Development Program: a mentoring and development program for emerging and professional Brisbane artists across all art forms.

Indigenous Projects: Programs developed by and for Indigenous artists and their communities.

Crossing Divides Statewide Exhibition Program: a range of multi-arts community workshops across the state contained in the 2008 program.

Anyone is welcome to attend these workshops, whether or not you experience a disability and irrespective of your previous experience. Support is available to participate in all our programs. See our Disability Access Policy for further details on how we can assist and feel free to contact us to discuss your needs. If you would prefer, we can work with you to develop a tailored program to meet the individual needs of your group. Feel free to contact us at any time to discuss your ideas.

Volunteering is a great way to develop skills in the arts and in office administration. Visit our Volunteers page for further details.

Keep in touch and stay up-to-date by visiting our website regularly, reading or listening to our Newsletters or come and see us or call us in the Office. We hope to meet you soon.
