Staff Roles
These staff roles are guidelines only, and as such, they may change with agreement from both employee and employer.
Executive Director
The Executive Director is responsible for applying for grants and their acquittal, advocating for members within the arts sector, the promotion of Access Arts, supervision of Indigenous projects and reporting to the Management Committee on strategic issues including quality assurance. The Executive Director also prepares the yearly budget, oversees spending and oversees the supervision of all staff at Access Arts.
Assistant Director
The Assistant Director manages a range of projects including the co-ordination of the state-wide Sound Circles program, working with philanthropic organisations and preparing funding applications. This employee is also responsible for the supervision of project staff and student placements, and is delegated to make operational decisions in the absence of the Executive Director.
Administration Co-ordinator
The Administration Co-ordinator is responsible for overseeing all administrative procedures for the organisation and the Quality Assurance system. This employee is also responsible for coordinating the Access Arts volunteer program and supervising the administration staff.
Project Co-ordinator
The Project Co-ordinator manages a range of projects including the Creative Respite Options program and the workshop program. This employee also co-ordinates Indigenous projects.
Project Officer
The Project Officer co-ordinates the Currumbin Crossing Divides program. This employee is also responsible for developing and managing Indigenous workshops and multi-arts programs.
Finance Officer
The Finance Officer is responsible for the payment process for all staff, assisting the Executive Director with acquitting grants, administration, preparing for end of year audits, accounts receivable/accounts payable and monthly reports to the Management Committee.
Information Technology Administrator
The Information Technology Administrator is responsible for all aspects of IT Administration at Access Arts including monthly server administration and helpdesk support.
Membership Services Officers
This position is responsible for welcoming people when they enter the office, notifying staff when appointments arrive and maintaining office files. He/she is required to assist other members of staff when needed, answer the phones, respond to member and public enquiries and assist with the editing and proofreading of documents.
Visual Arts Coordinator
The Visual Arts Coordinator is responsible for coordinating visual arts projects, curating art exhibitions, assisting artists in writing artists' statements and compiling resumes. This employee is also required to liaise with artists and arts organisations and assist with visual arts media and marketing. This employee coordinates The Brisbane Outsider Artists Studio (BOA).
Visual Arts Assistant
The Visual Arts assistant is responsible for assisting the visual arts coordinator in all visual arts projects, exhibitions and the BOA studio.
Marketing Coordinator
The Marketing Coordinator is responsible for coordinating the development and distribution of all media & marketing material for Access Arts’ workshops, programs and events. This employee is required to develop and implement Access Arts’ marketing plan.
